Forest Schools: Pumpkin Maths
The best afternoon with some pumpkin maths 🎃. We had to lift, carry, position, compare, contrast weigh and order. We used language such as big, bigger, biggest, small, smaller, smallest, heavy, heavier, heaviest, light, lighter, lightest. We had to work together to try and lift the giant pumpkin, concluded it was too heavy but solved our problem by deciding it was easier to roll it than lift it. 🎃. Renad pointed to the giant pumpkin saying “very big”. Ríoghán predicted that the giant pumpkin would be the heaviest. Robyn predicted that the smallest pumpkin would be the lightest. Daisy predicted that the white pumpkin would be heavier that the small orange pumpkin. Martín Míchéal said that the giant pumpkin was the biggest of all and Ayla said that her small pumpkin was tiny. Such great mathematical language in context. 🎃
